Welcome From

Welcome to the 58th season of the Idaho Falls Symphony! We
are proud of a community who sustains such a treasure over
so many years and continues to support and love its
symphony.
Our Board of Directors continues to be dedicated, and we
ended fiscal year 2007 on a very strong financial note. With
our endowment in place and growing, we are moving forward in
a positive manner. We are excited to have hired an excellent
Business Manager, Daniel Sene. Daniel has many exciting
ideas and is very enthusiastic about the Idaho Falls
Symphony and its continued growth and excellence. We also
welcomed several new Board Members this year and look
forward to their service with us.
Our season this year is varied and should be excellent, with
something for everyone. We begin with a family concert by
the Chamber Orchestra in collaboration with the Eastern
Idaho Youth Symphony, “Peter and the Wolf,” narrated by our
own Mayor Jared Fuhriman. We feature violin soloists Dallin
Hansen from BYU-I at Symphony I in November and another
violinist, Ilana Setapen, at the Red Dress Concert in
February. December’s concert will feature the always popular
Nutcracker, with the Eugene Ballet company and many of our
local youth. An exciting concert on February 8 will feature
the entire performance of Handel’s Messiah, which will be
sung by the ISU Concert Choir.
Of course, the Pops Concert is always a favorite, and this
year it will feature All That Jazz! The final Chamber
concert in the spring will feature the winds and a piano
soloist, Dr.Kori Bond. This will be a combination of
Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart compositions.
Our final concert will include a guest conductor, Kirk
Gustafson, from Grand Junction, Colorado. This will showcase
trumpeter Allen Vizzutti’s compositions.
Again, thank you to our many wonderful show sponsors,
advertisers, and of course patrons who purchase tickets,
attend our concerts, and support us fi nancially. We
encourage you to look through this program and to choose to
do business with those advertisers who support our Symphony.
We could not sustain this outstanding Symphony Orchestra
without all of you and your participation.
Enjoy the season! |
